While an official announcement has yet to come from FOX or 'American Idol' producers, the AP is reporting that a friend of Steven Tyler, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed his involvement on the show. Adding, "there is no reason to refute Tyler's account."
Fans of the show have been left in limbo after the departure of mainstay judge and show producer Simon Cowell. Ellen DeGeneres also left 'Idol' this year after only one season, and Kara DioGuardi was fired shortly thereafter. While rumors originally circulated that Jennifer Lopez would be a judge, it now looks as though Steven Tyler is all but confirmed.
Of course this is great news for Steven Tyler and 'American Idol' fans, but PopEater spent the day asking people on the street if the show has finally run its course.
