Monica Engaged to Shannon Brown

Monica is engaged to Shannon Brown -- the man she walked down the aisle with in her music video, 'Love All Over Me.' Now, the R&B singer and L.A. Laker are tying the knot in real life.

Monica and Shannon Brown met on the set of the 'Love All Over Me' video in June, and though it has only been a few months, the 29-year-old singer -- best known for her 1999 Grammy-winning duet, 'The Boy is Mine,' with Brandy -- insists that what she and Brown have is true love. "We realize people will have their opinions. That's the way of the world. But we know who we are&who's we are. We pray 2 an awesome God 2gether," Monica tweeted. "And that is what keeps us strong. So for all my real supporters who are happy for me. I thank u, I love u, & I'm realistic enough about life To know my journey has just begun. I don't have anything else to say about it. 2 people who judge. If u worked on self u wouldn't even see me."

Following a slew of heartfelt tweets, Monica posted a picture of her new hairstyle -- debuting the huge rock on her finger, and confirming her engagement to Shannon Brown.

WOW!! reading some of the comments about Monica's engagement is just so foolish 2 me. The anger from some of the ppl suggest they are bitter, unhappy with themselves & truly do not KNOW GOD OR BELIEVE IN HIM because if they did the remarks would have been different. All the best to Monica & Shannon on their journey..she posted the most important thing, that they both believe in GOD!!! with that nothing else matters. All men are not dogs, just as all women are not Whores. People in hollywood are human and have everyday problems like everyone else, fortunately the women are around the type of man(wealthy)that we regular women would like to have but can't get because we are not in that scenary...As long as they are true to themselves everything else means zero...
