Bruno Mars -- real name Peter Hernandez -- is a star on the rise. The singer-songwriter/producer got his start at the tender of age of four impersonating Elvis in his uncle's band. Fast-forward a few years and the impersonations had evolved from the King to King of pop Michael Jackson, with the fourteen-year-old Mars finding a place on the Legends in Concert show.
After graduation, Mars was encouraged by his Elvis-loving uncle to move to the mainland to pursue his music ambitions. It wasn't until he met songwriter Philip Lawrence -- and the pair's collaboration on what would become Brandy's 2008 song 'Long Distance' -- that things started to take off for Bruno Mars. 2009 saw Lawrence and Mars pen 'Right Round for Flo Rida, and garner a No.1 hit. Mars followed up on this in 2010 when he co-wrote and performed on B.o.B's hit 'Nothin' on You' and Travie McCoy's 'Billionaire,' before going on to release his own EP and, in October, the full-length 'Doo-Wops and Hooligans,' scoring the top slot on the Billboard singles chart with 'Just the Way You Are.'
How old is Bruno Mars? The prolific new star was born on Oct. 8, 1985. He is 25 years old.
