'Loud' is a much more positive and uptempo album when compared to the dark overtones of Rihanna's 2009 album, 'Rated R.' Earlier this year, one of the producers working on 'Loud' told MTV that it is "very positive and very explosive. Heavy in the club," and the first two singles from the album exemplify that. 'Only Girl (In The World),' the lead single off of 'Loud' released back in Sept., immediately shot up to No. 1 on many international charts, and expectations are high for her new single featuring Drake, 'What's My Name?' that was just released last week.
Rihanna might not want to stray too far from 'Rated R' however, it debuted at No. 4 in the US and sold over 180,000 copies in its first week. That's probably why her current plans are to promote the song 'S&M' as the third single.
