Jason Aldean always gets overlooked in these awards shows...just because he is on an independant label...however he was voted best performance at the ACM's and ACA award shows...something to be said about that now !!

To compare Bieber to the King of Pop: Blasphemy, or an honest mistake from a younger person who did not live through MJ's 'Golden Era'.

Yes, Eminem has real talent -- but remember USA demographics: Overall there are still more Americans who favor Country music (blecchhh) much moreso than Rap. (However in media advertising, it's the exact opposite; Hip Hop has been #1 for a few years now for background/"soundbeds" in TV & radio commercials. Go figure.)

Either way, Danielle has the right idea: I haven't heard truly original music in years -- and i'm a radio deejay. My job is to listen to music all day long. Our station avoids most new releases for just that reason -- the music simply isn't good enough.

Everyone here made great comments about who got left out. But also, there's your proof it's rigged. Not that Bieber isn't talented, he is, of course -- but come on, this guy has been around for *months*, not years, and he sweeps that many trophies? Statistically speaking, that is highly unlikely.

The AMA isn't alone on this, not at all. The MTV VMA's aren't exactly kosher either. Others are guilty too, although I feel that those two are more flagrant offenders.

So, how did Bieber take all those awards home, when a few great artists got no recognition? Simple! The contest was fixed. Happens every day, in all sorts of competitions. Some of then are fair, some are not. It's reprehensible, but as long as people/votes can be bought off, there's not a lot to be done about it :-

Em should have won over frikkin Bieber. I mean, Em has REAL TALENT not a computer generated voice. He has clever lines not repetitive and annoying lyrics. The music world has gone to the dogs...

I would have rather seen P!nk as artist of the year, amazing tour for nearly two years, a greatest hit album, and the best performance of that night! always singing live!!! in any case!

Justin is very good, he reminds me of a young Michael Jackson. I wouldn't have voted for him but let's not take away from the fact that this kid beat out some very good artists. Good job Justin! If it were my kid I woud hope you would be more supportive.
