These sad videos touch on a range of tough topics -- from heartache to suicide -- and are sure to make you cry. Check out our list of the top 10 sad videos -- but be sure to have tissues handy. 10. 'My Heart Will Go On' (Celine Dion)

Cliche as it may be, Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On' video is sad -- and a shoe-in for a top 10 sad videos list. Dion's most famous love song video is made up of scenes from James Cameron's 1997 film 'Titanic' -- bringing us double the tears as we watch our beloved Jack and Rose struggle to cling to one another as the boat sinks. Spoiler: Jack dies.



9. 'Don't Take the Girl' (Tim McGraw)

No. 9 on our list of sad music videos, Tim McGraw's 'Don't Take the Girl,' follows a boy and a girl through different stages of their lives together. As kids, the little boy's father is taking him fishing and he begs his dad not to bring the girl along. As teenagers, the boy and girl are on a date when they're held up in a robbery -- and the boy begs the man with the gun not to hurt the girl. At the most clenching point in the song, the boy and girl are in the hospital delivering their first baby when the boy gets the news that his girl is "fading fast," and he begs God not to take her. 'Don't Take the Girl' was Tim McGraw's first single to hit No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs list in 1994, and it has since become a classic for McGraw and a staple for our sad videos countdown.

8. 'Everybody Hurts' (R.E.M.)

When the loneliness becomes too much to bear, R.E.M.'s 'Everybody Hurts' video will always be there to make things worse. The video shows the band stuck in a traffic jam along I-10 in San Antonio, Texas -- and all of the other drivers' sad thoughts run across the screen as their somber faces are shown. Despite the potential to be uplifting, 'Everybody Hurts' is one big downer. Following the earthquake in Haiti earlier this year, R.E.M allowed 'Everybody Hurts' to be used as a charity single -- and waived all royalties the band would have received.


7. 'Because of You' (Kelly Clarkson)

There's nothing like memories of a scarred childhood to bring the tears, and Kelly Clarkson's 'Because of You' video is as sad as they come. To make matters worse, it's a true story -- the 'American Idol' winner wrote the ballad during her parents' divorce. In 2007, Clarkson re-released 'Because of You' as a duet with country's Reba McEntire, and it peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Country charts.


6. 'Jeremy' (Pearl Jam)

Pearl Jam's 'Jeremy' video touches on a delicate issue: teenage suicide. The original video for 'Jeremy' received a lot of backlash, and a scene where Jeremy puts a gun in his mouth and shoots himself in front of his classmates was edited out due to the controversy. Despite that, 'Jeremy' received Best Video of the Year at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards, but Pearl Jam did not make another music video until 1998's 'Do the Evolution'...which, by the way, was fully animated.



5. 'I'll Be Missing You' (Puff Daddy and Faith Evans feat. 112)

Puff Daddy (Sean Combs, now known as Diddy) and Faith Evans' 'I'll Be Missing You' is a classic. The sad video is a dedication to the life of the Notorious B.I.G., who was murdered in March of 1997. 'I'll Be Missing You' samples The Police's 1983 hit 'Every Breath You Take,' and was named one of Billboard's greatest songs of all time.



4. 'Teardrops on My Guitar' (Taylor Swift)

No. 4 on our list of top sad videos is Taylor Swift's 'Teardrops on My Guitar.' Like most Taylor Swift videos, this one tells the story of a boy that breaks Taylor's heart -- though he's never been the wiser to her love for him. Released in 2007, 'Teardrops on My Guitar' was the second single for Swift, from her first studio album -- the self-titled 'Taylor Swift.'


3. 'Tears in Heaven' (Eric Clapton)

Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven' video is especially sad if you know the story behind it. Co-written by Will Jennings, 'Tears in Heaven' is Clapton's release of grief following the death of fellow blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as Eric Clapton's 4-year-old son Conor, who fell to his death from the 53rd-story window of a New York City building in 1991. The song went on to win three Grammy Awards in 1993.



2. 'Stan' (Eminem feat. Dido)

Eminem's 'Stan' video is sad, but it's also as unique as the 'My Name Is' singer himself. Stan (played by Devon Sawa) writes letters to Eminem, expressing how he's the rapper's biggest fan -- but when the real Slim Shady doesn't answer back in a timely manner, Stan commits suicide by driving his car off a bridge -- with his pregnant girlfriend in the trunk. The real clincher is when Eminem sits down to write his No. 1 fan back to apologize... but realizes he's too late.


1. 'Stay' (Sugarland)

The raw emotion in Sugarland's 'Stay' video puts it at No. 1 in our top sad videos list. The set-up of this video is simple, with the duo (Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush) performing the country ballad in front of a black screen -- but it's the song's content and tears streaming down Nettles' face that make 'Stay' a Kleenex-grabber. The song was written solely by Nettles and is from the point of view of a mistress, who comes to terms with the fact that the man she's seeing will never leave his wife for her.
