The 68-year-old lead singer of the Isley Brothers, Ronald Isley wrote the new album in a chapel in prison. Inspired by his surroundings, Isley got the idea to use his talents for a gospel album, and enlisted one of the best in Aretha Franklin to help him cover the Carole King classic, 'You've Got a Friend.' Ronald Isley also collaborated with Lauryn Hill and is joined by T.I. on the track, 'Put Your Money On Me.'
Ronald Isley was recently awarded the 'Legends' honor at the 2010 Soul Train Awards, though he insists he works on staying relevant, saying, "You have to know what's happening and continue to learn. You have to ask yourself "Where is that business going? Or what could I do that I haven't done?" Whatever it is, I just do it."
