On Tuesday, career rocker and perpetual pinup boy Jon Bon Jovi was appointed by President Obama to the White House Council on Community Services. Joined by about two dozen other appointees, Bon Jovi and his fellow councilmen will advise the President on progressive ways to bring communities together, mobilizing citizens, non-profits, businesses and government to work in tandem on issues that hit them at the local level.

More than just the frontman of Bon Jovi -- the mega-successful, Grammy Award winning superstar band that's named after him -- Jon Bon Jovi has spearheaded his own charitable group, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which has worked to create public-private partnerships, ultimately resulting in hundreds of affordable housing units for low income individuals and families.

Bon Jovi has been a longtime supporter of President Obama, from campaign fundraising to performing at his inauguration, and before that, he supported Democrat John Kerry in the 2004 Presidential campaign. Named Billboard's Top Touring Act of 2010, it's also safe to say that's he's seen a million faces... and he's rocked them all.
