The Daylights
Some are calling it the world's first "viral love letter." When L.A. film director Walter May's girlfriend moved across the country to attend graduate school, it sparked an idea: enlisting the help of pop-rock trio the Daylights, the crew wrote a romantic tune and filmed a clever hand-choreography video accompaniment. Then they let the internet do the rest.
It only took a couple of days for the clip to reach its final destination. Thanks to highly visible tweets from Katy Perry and actor Zachary Levi (to name a few), 'I Hope This Gets to You' made its way to the computer screen of May's girlfriend.
"We're just happy to be a part of something that ups the ante for the modern love letter...and gives UPS a run for its money," Daylights vocalist Ran Jackson tells AOL. "Dinner and a movie is so 2009."
