Willow Smith lit up the charts with her 'Whip My Hair' single, and now she's working on what will be her debut album for Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. Now, 25 years after he became famous alongside Will Smith as the duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, the DJ is teaming up with the younger Smith.
The rapper Skillz, who has also been recruited to write lyrics for Willow Smith, revealed the news to BET. "Me and Jazzy Jeff are working on some stuff for Willow Smith's album. I worked with her dad on a few projects before so you know I have a relationship with him ... It was just a natural progression, like, they're doing music so, you know, that door's always open. I'd be crazy not to try to walk through it, so we're working on some stuff."
And if that's not taking the family lineage far enough, the 10-year-old Willow Smith would also like to record a new version of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's 1988 hit single, 'Parents Just Don't Understand.'
