Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Arcade Fire, Cee Lo Green, and Miranda Lambert are the first performers announced for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards show. All six are nominated for gongs this year; Arcade Fire and Lambert will be performing for the first time, while Eminem, Green, Lady Gaga, and Perry are Grammy performance veterans.
Rock legend Bob Dylan will join Mumford & Sons and the Avett Brothers on stage while Mick Jagger will make his first-ever Grammy performance in tribute to legendary soul singer Solomon Burke, who passed away last October. Other performances include Barbra Streisand, who is nominated for best traditional pop vocal album, 'Love Is the Answer,' following an introduction by her 'A Star Is Born' co-star, Kris Kristofferson. Christina Aguilera will join Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride and Florence Welch in a tribute to the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin.
Dr. Dre will also perform for the first time in more than a decade as he joins Eminem on stage. Eminem leads all nominees with 10, including Record, Song and Album of the Year. Lady Gaga has six nods, Cee Lo Green and Katy Perry each have four nominations, and both Arcade Fire and Miranda Lambert are up for three awards each. The news of the performances was immediately followed up on Twitter with an announcement that "Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon."
The 2011 Grammy Awards will take place live on Sunday, Feb. 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
