AOL: What are you most looking forward to in 2011?
Tony Lucca: I'm looking forward to things kind of growing -- you know, proportionately -- especially being here from last year and getting a larger response than last year. Going on tour this year I'm hoping to see a lot of these people out there and expand the love and the family -- it's great.
AOL: What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment as an artist?
TL: Wow, I don't know, man. I guess it would have to be mostly on the personal side. I had a baby about 15 months ago and that's huge. I also spent three years clean and sober, which was a great chapter and a strong accomplishment I felt. Other than that, making records and continuing to expand the reach of them and increase the feedback and the fanbase. It's a continual work in progress, so it doesn't seem like a huge accomplishment, but it has happened steadily.
AOL: What inspires you?
TL: Travel ... travel. Moving about -- it helps gain perspective. You can see things that are the same in different cities, in different places, but are all together entirely different. It's hard to describe, but it allows you to keep a universal perspective when it comes to writing lyrics and finding things to say that the most people are going to respond to.
AOL: Sixthman asked Rock Boat patrons to answer the question, 'What is your Rock Boat?' So, Tony, what is your Rock Boat?
TL: (Flashes his signature ear-to-ear grin) Rock Boat is a blessing, it's a treat. You know, for me as an artist, for all of the artists, I think I can speak on their behalf and say to come out here and get the treatment -- the rock star treatment -- from everyone, but it's also humbling, and it's also extremely rewarding on a very personal day-to-day level to get to know people personally, as opposed to the distance that is fans and stage. I'm really grateful that I've been welcomed into this, because it's like nothing else.
