Lady Gaga is not only the queen of pop, she's the queen of social media, and now the superstar is set to become the first person to reach 8 million Twitter followers.

According to data from TwitterCounter, Lady Gaga's Twitter page will surpass the 8 million follower mark in just five days. She currently has 7,950,567 followers, a number that is rising quickly with a new album pending and fans following her every move. According to stats from Famecount, Lady Gaga also has the fourth most popular Facebook page, behind Texas Hold-em, Facebook, and Michael Jackson. She is also the fourth most popular YouTube user, behind Machinima.com, Failblog.org, and Justin Bieber.

Incidentally, Lady Gaga used her Twitter account at one minute past midnight on Jan. 1, 2011 to announce the release date of 'Born This Way,' saying: "The song 2 13 11 The record 5 23 11." From this tweet, one could assume 'Born This Way' is set to be released on May 23.

"From this tweet, one could assume 'Born This Way' is set to be released on May 23."

One could assume? Assume?!?

It's stated pretty clear in that tweet, it's not really open for interpretation... And Lady GaGa herself has said in many other places that it comes out on May 23.
