Jay Sean Reveals His Craziest Valentine's Day Moments

Marc Baptiste

Jay Sean is no stranger to playing it cool for the ladies. The London-born, Punjabi R&B artist has made a living expressing his romantic side in song with hit singles like 'Eyes on You,' 'Ride It,' and 'Do You Remember.' We figure most of his experiences with the opposite sex are good ones, but we decided to find out for ourselves and ask him these Valentine's Day questions.

AOL: Tell us about your best/worst/craziest Valentine's Day moment?

Jay Sean:
Worst: took a date out to a beautiful high end restaurant tucked away in a remote part of London hoping for some privacy, only to be sat RIGHT next to a friend I hadnt seen in about six years! I say friend, more an acquaintance...(!!!) Which made it worse because I didn't even really know him well enough to have a real, enjoyable conversation. So in the end we ended up talking unimportant nonsense out of politeness and it became an awkward double date with a couple that we actually never happened to see again!

Best: Took my girl to Marbella in Spain and had dinner in a gorgeous restaurant right on the coast. The food was amazing, the wine was exquisite, and she was the happiest I'd ever seen her! It was perfect.

Craziest: I tried to arrange a romantic surprise at a French restaurant, so I had purposely "forgotten" to give my girl a gift and roses during the day. I had instead arranged for the waiter to bring them out at the restaurant together with a bottle of Champagne ... EXCEPT ... all of this was delivered to the girl a few tables behind me. So my girl saw it all, was like "aawww thats so sweet of him to do that for her." At which point I rather lamely pointed the waiter to the direction of our table. Confusion on the face of my girl, that girl, her man and the waiter. Awkward.

AOL: Do you have plans for Valentine's Day? How do you approach it?

JS:
I think there are a few essentials: Roses, fine chocolates, champagne, a nice restaurant and ummm ... a place to "retire for the night" organized in advance.
