The singer filed papers to have the order against Brown dropped to a level one, which would allow the two artists to be in the same room and within close proximity as long as Rihanna is not harassed or bothered.
It's been two years since the brutal attacked on the Barbadian singer by her then-boyfriend Brown the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. This year, both have multiple Grammy nominations and would most likely be in close contact during the festivities. However, Brown, nominated for three Grammys, is not planning on attending the awards show because of a previous commitment.
He most recently completed a yearlong class on dometic violence with rave reviews from the court in December and asked for a progress report on his case with Rihanna.
Rihanna is scheduled to perform at this year's awards show.
