The news that Beyonce may be close to wrapping up her fourth album, and first new material since 2008's 'I Am... Sasha Fierce,' came from an unlikely source. Australian songstress Sia recently opened up to MTV Australia about her desire to work with Beyonce, but lamented she might have missed her opportunity because there is only "one song left" to record.
"I just said to all the producers, writers, everyone, help me make this happen," Sia said, adding, "then Diplo e-mailed me and said, 'where are you in the world right now? would you be interested in flying to New York? I'm writing with Beyonce,' and I was like, 'Yesss!'"
Sia, who recently wrote two ballads for Christina Aguilera's 'Bionic' album, went on to explain she was unable to fly out due to a schedule conflict, but has started submitting songs to Beyonce, though she doubts they'll end up on her latest offering. "Well, there's only one song left for this album, so I probably won't get on this album, but hopefully the next one. That's my dream, that's my goal," Sia admitted.
Sia isn't the only collaborator hoping to land on the new Beyonce Album. She joins Sleigh Bells, Ne-Yo, S1, Jim Jonsin, Sean "The Pen" Garrett, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart as artists who have been tapped to work on the project.
While there is no planned release date or title at this time, the fact Beyonce was recently selected to be a headliner at Glastonbury this summer would lead us to believe there will at least be some new album-hype before then.
