Katy Perry's role in the upcoming 'Smurfs' movie has been revealed in the latest trailer.

Already a master of getting blue (with hair wigs) on her recent tour -- heavily influenced by her 'California Gurls' video -- Perry has switched out the blue locks and original black tresses to voice the blond, sole female, Smurfette, in the upcoming animated 'Smurfs' film, out this August.

The trailer shows the first glimpse at Perry's dainty Smurfette. In one scene the little Smurf in her flowing white dress and hat is standing over a air vent (a la Marilyn Monroe's windswept halter-top dress in the 'Seven Year Itch'). Perry seems to captures the flirty Smurf dead-on, just like we remember her before the original cartoon series ended in 1989. Always posh, demure, sexy and tough as nails, Perry's Smurfette may stay true to character.

The movie, based on the original, US cartoon that originated from a comic strip created by Belgian artist Peyo in 1972, also has a larger, star-studded cast. 'How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris and 'Glee's Jayma Mays play Smurf allies Patrick and Jane Winslow, and Hank Azaria as Smurf nemesis Gargamel. Actors Jonathan Winters voices the wise, old Papa Smurf, Alan Cumming is Gutsy Smurf and Paul Reubens aptly plays Jokey Smurf. George Lopez (Grouchy) Jeff Foxworthy (Handy) and chef Wolfgang Puck (as Chef Smurf, of course) also lend their voices to the film.
