Whitney Houston Orders Bobbi Kristina to Go to Rehab

It is no secret that Whitney Houston has had her own battles with drug addiction after much personal-that-turned-public turmoil and a stint in rehab earlier in the 2000s. Following photos that have recently surfaced of her 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina snorting cocaine, Whitney is stepping up and stepping in.

According to National Enquirer, in an attempt to save her adolescent daughter from repeating her own mistakes, the 47-year-old mama has reportedly canceled Bobbi's 18th birthday celebration at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, is taking back the Lexus she gifted her daughter and is sending her straight to rehab.

Nothing like some tough love to slap the silly out of you. Whitney credits her own mother, Cissy Houston, with saving her from her addiction to crack cocaine. Whitney told Oprah in 2009 that her mother forced her to rehab after getting a court injunction that allowed her to stage an intervention with armed police at Whitney's door in 2004.

Bobbi, whose father is R&B bad boy and Whitney's ex-husband Bobby Brown has a drug history of his own, and his daughter seems to be following in both her parents' hard-partying footsteps. This isn't the first news of the famous offspring's teen troubles -- rumors have also recently surfaced of a Bobbi Kristina sex tape.

Should have tried the tough love from the beginning. Seems if this kid had a Lexus and planned an 18th birthday party in the Bahamas she was getting way too much stuff and not enough structure and discipline - which is expected with these type of parents. Kids need to hear 'no." This often to affluent kids. Parents need to set the example. Put her to work at a charity instead. Kids need to learn that what others need is more important than what they want. I tell my kids that. They don't like it. I make them work helping the poor and elderly. Haven't had any problems with them. They'll appreciate the discipline someday.

It's amazing that a site that's affiliated with mainstream news outlets would consider the National Enquirer a reliable source.
