Lady Gaga Defends 'Judas' -- Potent Quotables

"In my opinion, the only controversial thing about this video is that I'm wearing Christian Lacroix and Chanel in the same frame. This video is not meant to be an attack on religion. I respect and love everyone's beliefs. I'm a religious and spiritual person who's obsessed with religious art. I'm obsessed with it." -- Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga dismisses her critics' claims that her 'Judas' video is a blasphemous piece of iconoclasm in an interview with MTV.com. The video depicts Gaga as bad a-- biker version of Mary Magdalene in the middle of a modern-day love triangle with Jesus and his betrayer, Judas. But the Catholic-raised superstar defends her art and reiterates her love of high fashion in one fell swoop.
