Beyonce Goes Country and Nearly Nude for Essence Cover -- Video

Beyonce brings it back to her Texan roots with a country-themed cover shoot for the July issue of Essence magazine.

In the behind-the-scenes video of the shoot, the Houston-born superstar, whose upcoming album '4' just leaked onto the internet two weeks ahead of schedule, is one sexy cowgirl. Beyonce was shot for the mag hanging out in the haystacks, riding a white horse -- like the one in her 'Run the World (Girls)' music video -- and whipping around a lasso in bottom-less chaps.

Queen B looks great in a cowboy hat, but she looks even better posing next-to-nude in a tin washtub. B rocks a white swimsuit with her arms and super-toned legs draped over a tub in the middle of a field, which from some naughty camera angles make her look like a bathing beauty in the nude.

Beyonce's sexy editorial spread comes along with a personally penned cover story entitled 'Eat, Play, Love,' in which the songstress shares how her nine-month hiatus from the biz and dedication to enjoying the "simple," "regular everyday things" reignited her creativity and became a source of "inspiration."

She is beautiful, sexy, talented and rich, but I agree with some of the others. I thought she was a role model for young girls and women. I didnt see her as the type to use sex to sell herself. Now that is all she seems to stand for is SEX. Video though was dumb, but she liked good being dumb

This is the stupidist thing I have ever seen. Beyonce is so beautiful and this photo shoot is so dumb. I would have thought she would have wanted something more tasteful and relevent. Just dumb.

Furthermore, Beyonce is talented, but she's not as good as she thinks she is. She is more of a pretty woman rather than an outstanding singer. She's good, but not great. She needs to start listening to her momma rather than her husband JZ when it comes to acting like a star. Her mom is a great role model, beautiful, ageless, and a real lady. In the world of hip hop, which Jay Z is from, all the women act like *****. Perhaps he is not the best source for giving advice on how to be a great singer and maintaining dignity and femininity while doing it. This video is awful. Sorry! All this slut portrayal of women singers, actresses, etc. it is no wonder the young girls today are acting like ***** before their 11. I see the way young girls, tweens, and young adult ladies dress and act, and I just want to put them in a room and lecturer them about having dignity and pride in being woman. It sickens me to see these images that does nothing to educate young women or prepare them for womanhood. It sends the message that women have to let it all hang out in order to get and keep a man. This mentality hurts society and women in general!

I don't know who is giving her advice, but in my opinion, it is the wrong advice. She doesn't even look natural playing the slut role, and why would she need to? I do not like the new Beyonce and I feel it sends the wrong messages to all of the young girls and women who admire and respect her. So, basically she is saying that you have to sell sex and your womanhood in order to be successful in entertainment. Her actions lately are contradictory to the image she portrays when she is in the public and not singing. She acts very ladylike, humble, warm, and sweet. Yet, her videos and appearances in the last 2 years portray the opposite. Instead of trying to act like Madonna, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and some of the other singers, it was better when Beyonce acted like herself. It reminds me of Alecia Keys when she transitioned to more pop sounds. It just doesn't demonstrate her talent that well. I preferred Alecia the way she use to be as I do Beyonce. Stick with what you do best and stop trying to be like every other singer. Doing so minimizes your artistic and creative side.
