As AOL Music recently reported, 'Chariot' singer Gavin DeGraw was brutally beaten in the Lower East Side of New York City on Sunday night (Aug. 7) sustaining a broken nose, concussion, black eyes and several cuts. He was then struck by a cab after leaving the scene but was not seriously injured.

DeGraw was attacked on First Avenue between 5th and 6th street after leaving the National Underground, a club he owns with his brother Joey. According to the Hollywood Reporter, three unidentified men assaulted the singer though it is not believed that the he was the subject of a robbery. DeGraw then stumbled 13 blocks when he was hit by a taxi. A bystander then called an ambulance to the scene.

Now Billboard reports that the 34-year-old is back in high spirits after being released in stable condition from Bellevue hospital. He has since taken to Twitter to thank his fans and friends for their support.
