DeGraw was attacked on First Avenue between 5th and 6th street after leaving the National Underground, a club he owns with his brother Joey. According to the Hollywood Reporter, three unidentified men assaulted the singer though it is not believed that the he was the subject of a robbery. DeGraw then stumbled 13 blocks when he was hit by a taxi. A bystander then called an ambulance to the scene.
Now Billboard reports that the 34-year-old is back in high spirits after being released in stable condition from Bellevue hospital. He has since taken to Twitter to thank his fans and friends for their support.
DeGraw has since cancelled several tour dates with Maroon 5 and Train, but still plans on releasing his next album 'Sweeter' on Sept. 20. Get well soon, Gavin!
