The girl power legacy of '90s pop supergroup Spice Girls will live on in the form of an upcoming musical production named for their 1998 hit, 'Viva Forever.'

The show will be inspired by the hit songs of the beloved British girl group, comprised of Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice).

"I've heard a little bit about the story but it's top secret. We've been in touch with the producer and the writer," Bunton teased.

That producer is Judy Craymer, producer of 'Mamma Mia!' and the writer is star of the British comedy series 'Absolutely Fabulous,' Jennifer Saunders. Celebrated British theater director Marianne Elliot will direct the musical.

According to Craymer, 'Viva Forever' is "all about female friendship, celebrity and fame." She continued, "'Viva Forever' will encompass the Spice Girls ethos of friendship, identity and being true to yourself."

The show will not, however, be a biographical piece on the pop stars' rise to fame. "It won't be a tribute or bio show, nor will it feature characters with any of the names of the famous five piece," Craymer explained.

Chisholm also ruled out appearing onstage telling the Daily Star, "The script is funny and emotional. But there won't be any cameos from us."
