As AOL Music previously reported, New York-based pop rocker Gavin DeGraw was brutally beaten by a group of three unidentified men in the very early morning on Aug. 7. DeGraw was leaving his club The National Underground on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Following the attack DeGraw was hit by a cab and taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a broken nose, concussion and a black eye.

Now, as Perez Hilton reports, Gavin has released an official statement about his recovery and several hopes for his upcoming tour:

"Instead of checking in from the tour, I'm writing as I recover at home. I'm feeling much better, but it will take a little bit more time to be back to 100%! I'm overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from my fans, friends, and family. I can't wait to get back out on tour and look forward to seeing you on the road sometime soon. I'll keep you posted."

The singer was released from hospital care on Aug. 10 and is expected to make a full recovery. Gavin was forced to cancel several shows he had lined up with Maroon 5 and Train but is expected to rejoin the tour on Aug. 24th in Columbia, Md. Get well soon, Gavin!

Probably was acting like a celeb in his bar and pissed off a few of the guys and got his butt kicked. Hollywood treat people like you would want to be treated or you will get your azz kicked. Nite

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad 2 64 GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic
Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will
never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also
sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $674 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here
is the website we use to get it all from, http://HitPenny.com

If he was carrying a legal concealed weapon this may not have happened. Oh never mind he was in NY.

there's no actual statement being made here other than when he hopes to rejoin the tour. What he has issued is even more confusion into the facts that were already known (beaten by three men) adding getting HIT by a cab then taken to the hospital!!! Really? Well what was the reason for the beating? Was it just a random act? Is he gay and perhaps propositioned the wrong people. Did he know his assailants? Are the police running down clues to find his assailants? Just nothing really being handed out in this story.

the problem we have here is that people arent afraid of the justice system, we need to make life on the inside a very harsh enviroment most of the rats that are out there commiting these crimes dont mind prison for most of them its like a second home, so i say bring back the chain gang, take away all rights and privilges, no weight room, no t.v. no commissary nothing for these scum, hell i would like to see the killers publicly hanged make them think twice before they so freely take a life, fight back america before its to late, look at all the thugs and scum coming in from south of the border they are unforgiving and have no value for life, i say get them before they get us (you)

Why do certian individuals feel the need to write such rude comments. Who cares if it was a brutal beating or not. The fact remains is that this young man was innocently beaten by three other men. That in itself is a crime. I hope that McDrew recovers well and is back to normal soon. For those who feel it neccesary to write such rude and hateful comments is the reason this World is in such termoil. It only takes a few horrible individuals to make life on earth a living hell..We found that out on 9/11. And the same goes for people who show NO compassion or care what so ever for other human beings. These types of individuals are the ones who are most likely to continue the bullying, killing and abuse on this planet. How sad their lives must be!
