This year's VMA pre-show and black carpet will be hosted by Disney-darling-turned-pop-princess Selena Gomez, and will feature a live performance by Cobra Starship, while the fierce Jessie J will rock the VMAs as their house artist. Viewers will also get a preview look the new Nicki Minaj video 'Fly' featuring Rihanna and 'Gucci Gucci' rapper Kreayshawn will host the MTV.com Video Music Awards Red Carpet Report. As confirmed and teased, the VMAs show itself will be opened by none other than Lady Gaga, the multi-VMA-nominated Mother Monster herself. Additional live performances by Beyonce, Chris Brown, Adele, Lil Wayne and Pitbull with Ne-Yo and Nayer and a last minute addition of Jay-Z and Kanye West are sure to rock the stage. As a special tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, Tony Bennett will introduce video footage from their studio session recordings.
After a frantic, down-to-the-wire search for a host, MTV has opted for a bold choice: no host at all. But with so many rumors swirling around the planned Britney Spears medley tribute, who knows which pop giants will surprise us?
Tune in to MTV's Video Music Awards pre-show at 8PM ET/PT and the awards show itself at 9PM ET/PT, and keep it here at AOL Music for all your VMAs news and live coverage.
