Britney Spears Wins the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award -- MTV VMAs 2011

Over the years, the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award has gone to some of music's biggest and brightest pop stars, including Madonna, U2 and the Beastie Boys. Tonight, the esteemed honor went to the one and only Britney Spears.

The award -- once called the Lifetime Achievement Award and later renamed in memory of the King of Pop -- was presented by Lady Gaga's alter ego Jo Calderone who tried, in several ways, to kiss the diva while she accepted the award.

The moment was reminiscent of Brit Brit's make-out session with Madonna at the 2003 VMAs, only Jo was unsuccessful in landing that smooch. Britney was visibly moved after a short tribute and speech from Gaga honoring Spears as one of her generation's greatest pop acts. This is the singer's second moonman of the evening, following her win for Best Pop Video. Looks like Britney really is back, bitches!

for what, the girl out side of her looks when she was younger
and the ability to shake her arss all over the stage is all
she had going for her as for singing , she sings in monologs
stright tones , no ups or downs. all her music is written that way

Britney is a skank and MJ is a child molester??? Haven't heard that one before...try being original...And...OH, I have a title for you since you want to name call....HATA...This article was about a young artist receiving an award named after the BEST artist and entertainer EVER!!! Bad idea to rename the 'Lifetime Achievement Award" in any one person's name, much less MJ. But how ironic is it that the award goes to a fellow lipsync'er?

Obviously you have NEVER seen MJ perform...he is the BEST live performer ever!!! I'm not saying he never used playback...but ****, he is moonwalking and dancing his ass off!!!....I think MJ earned the right to do that...the newer artists don't do half the entertaining that MJ did BUT they still have to lip sync...If you ever heard MJ sing Live...he sounds just like the album. Let me repeat that...MJ sounds JUST like the album when he sings LIVE...Know your **** before you make unfounded statements...OK??? :)
