The 'Firework' clip features Katy belting out her most inspirational song to date, surrounded by the downtrodden and the different. "I feel like I am doing something right when I sing this song," Katy said in her acceptance speech. Perry has long stood up for Marriage Equality and other civil-rights causes, and 'Firework' is a fitting winner for this year's VMA awards.
Katy beat out Adele's 'Rolling the Deep,' Tyler, the Creator's 'Yonkers,' Bruno Mars' 'Grenade,' and the Beastie Boys' epic video for 'Make Some Noise.' Stay tuned for more 2011 VMA coverage right here on AOL Music.
