Lady Gaga Banned From Beyonce's MTV VMAs Dressing Room

MTV security banned Jo Calderone, Lady Gaga's male alter ego, from Beyonce's dressing room at the 2011 VMAs on Sunday (Aug. 28) after failing to recognize Gaga -- who apparently would not break character -- under her manly guise!

Apparently Gaga stayed so much in character as Jo Calderone, Gaga's greasy-haired, outspoken, on-again-off-again lover of Italian descent, that she caused security issues backstage at the popular music awards show because no one recognized her. Can you blame them? Gaga even went as far as to wear a prosthetic penis for her night in drag as Jo Calderone!

After Gaga's friend and former collab partner Beyonce made her big baby announcement on the VMA black carpet, Mother Monster couldn't wait to congratulate the mother-to-be, but security guards initially blocked her from visiting her pregnant pal!

An eyewitness source told UsMagazine.com, "She kept coming over to rub Beyonce's belly and say hello. And the security guards thought she was a guy at first and wouldn't let her back! It was really funny."

Lady GaGa, keep doing you. . . I love it. You are beautiful in everyway, Steph, so don't let anyone get you down.
Beyonce stated in an interview that you were her favorite performer because you were genuine, honest and extremely creative. Some can't appreciate that but your peers know what a jewel you are so keep doing your thing girl, obviously you have the world's attention!

I thought Gaga's alter ego was definitely awesome. It was soooo good, I was out of the room when Jo came onstage...and I actually didn't know it was her in character. KUDOS to you, Gaga!!! Great job, especially for staying in character all night. Now THAT'S entertainment..

I liked Gaga's Jo Calderone act. She definitely pushes herself. The negative comments from posters and the media simply prove that, while it's okay for a male performer to go in drag (numerous) and be totally off-the-wall (Jim Carrey and Jerry Lewis spring to mind), we still have a hard time accepting women doing the same thing.

This is the result of someone who either takes themselves WAY too seriously or they need psych Meds. I never understood the hype over her from the beginning. All this "art" crap is just stupid - one day fans will look back on this and wonder what the ___ they were thinking!!?

THIS TREND TOWARDS THE ABSURD BEGAN WAY BACK WHEN MADONNA FIRST CAME ON THE SCENE. THESE PEOPLE REALIZED THAT THEIR "TALENT" WAS LIMITED AT BEST AND SO THEY COMPENSATED WITH OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOR/FASHION. HOW SAD
