Dev Is Pregnant!

Pop star Dev is pregnant! The 22-year-old singer is set to become a first-time mom after announcing her pregnancy on whatthehellz.com yesterday (Sept. 7).

The 'Dancing in the Dark' singer, who is probably best known for laying her vocals on Far East Movement's viral club hit 'Like a G6,' is expecting a daughter with her boyfriend Jimmy. "I have [been] falling in love with my best friend, Jimmy. He's really such a beautiful human being ... As an extension of our love we have created a radical little baby... who will join us very soon. She's the best thing in the world," she told What the Hellz.

Ironically, the young singer told AOL Music back in May, "I'm from a really small town where everyone stays and marries their high school sweetheart. All my friends have kids, which is cool, that's what my parents did, but I was never satisfied. I still never am."

And Dev even admitted she feared her pregnancy would interfere with her blossoming career and the release of her debut album 'The Night the Sun Came Up,' which is set to drop Sept. 20. "It is scary though. I also thought people were going to hate and/or be sad about this beautiful thing I'm experiencing and I wouldn't be able to celebrate. That I wouldn't be able to put out this album. I thought my label might drop me."

But it looks like the soon-to-be mom and pop star on-the-rise will get to have her cake and eat it too. "Thankfully my label supports me, and I'm grateful I can put out this album. I can celebrate both my hard work, as well as my baby girl! I'm juggling the best of both worlds," Dev explained.

Dev is human and makes fun upbeat music that people enjoy. Judge youself before anyone else. She just wanted to create music and new humans.

Dev is a wonderfully fantastic artist that has been hugging the top charts in music for quite some time now. Congrats to her and her new family, im sure she will be an awesome mother :)

And for all those "generation haters" out there...Im Dev's age and i love my daughter unconditionally. I work full time and school full time and still care and support her. Just because shes young(er) and having a child doesnt make her irresponsible. Society is changing and thats life. Im positive Dev will be a perfect mother that loves her child just as any mother should.

little known singer is pregnant and madly in love with her best friend and all. She is from a small town where all her friends have kids. Somehow though she doesnt every talk about real committment...like marriage. Sad..
