Britney Spears Is Not Getting Engaged (Yet)

Speculation that Britney Spears was set to become a near-future fiancée has been silenced, at least for now, after a statement from Britney's rep was issued earlier today (Sept. 13).

Rumors hit the web that Britney's boyfriend of two years and former agent, Jason Trawick, was getting ready to pop the question to his pop-star girlfriend after he was spotted shopping for bling at a high-end jewelers in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.

Trawick did indeed meet with jeweler Pascal Mouaward, as reported, but not about a diamond ring for Britney.

It looks like the Femme Fatale will not be a fiancée fatale anytime soon, according to the Spears camp. "There is no truth to that report with regards to engagement rings. However, Jason was there to discuss other matters with Pascal, but nothing relating to him personally," Brit's rep told People.

However, a recent confession from Brit herself, in which she admitted she's considering walking down the aisle and having kids with her current beau, suggests an engagement may still be in the cards for the couple somewhere down the line.
