Ballas, 25, and Toscano, 22, started stepping out as a couple in public back in April, but a source tells People the power ballad-singing sensation and the ballroom-dancing beau have agreed to go their separate ways after a conversation this week about their demanding careers and busy schedules.
"They both decided with everything going on that they couldn't give each other what would be fair," the source said. "They mutually decided this."
A rep for Pia declined to comment on the singer's relationship status, but told E! News, "She's hard at work on her new album and can't wait for her fans to hear it. Pia is wrapping up her 'American Idol' tour and her album is expected to be released soon."
We wonder if Ballas' new dancing partner Kristin Cavallari has anything to do with the split. Rumors have already linked the dancer with the reality star.
