The rep confirmed that Cowell, 51, is still "as close as ever" with his fiancee, 38, following reports of a split. Simon sparked speculation over the state of his relationship with his celebrity makeup artist partner during a radio interview with Howard Stern, earlier this month (Sept. 11) after saying he was "not sure" if he was still engaged to Hussainy, who he met on the set of his former gig, 'American Idol,' and got engaged to in February 2010.
The overly vocal judge, has remained mum about his personal life, but later insisted he regretted his comments. He still, however, refused to elaborate on his current relationship status and break-up rumors were further fueled after he was allegedly spotted on a date with a mystery brunette.
Now, Simon's spokesperson Max Clifford has come forward to clear the air on the reports, insisting Cowell and Hussainy are still together. "This British brunette is such a mystery, even Simon doesn't know who she is. I'm afraid there is no truth in it. It's nonsense. I have spoken to Simon today about this tale and there is no mystery woman. Simon and Mezhgan are as close as ever," Clifford claimed on British TV show 'This Morning.'
