This time around, the soft-drink giant opted not to feature the face of a new on-the-rise superstar and instead compiled some of their most memorable commercials, creating a star-studded TV spot. Michael Jackson's signature glittery white socks glide onto the screen in a clip from the Pepsi promotional footage he shot during a deal that lasted from 1984 to 1993.
Next, the legendary piano-playing crooner Ray Charles reminds us of his early-'90s 'You Got the Right One, Baby' Diet Pepsi ad. A fresher-faced Britney reminds us of her glory days circa 2001 in her cameo, followed by the globetrotting, color-coordinated Kanye. Pop diva Mariah shines in a snippet from her 2008 turn as the soft drink's spokesperson, before the question "Who's Next" appears on the screen.
The Pepsi ad is in conjunction with reality competition show 'The X Factor,' which makes its US debut tonight (Sept. 21). The show looking for the next singing sensation -- someone who could only hope to be as iconic as the Pepsi stars on display.
