Apparently some Cannon critics have been questioning the 30-year-old's work ethic and accusing him of gold-digging off his Grammy-winning superstar wife, 41. Nick name drops wifey Mariah, whom he is tasked to "protect" and his 5-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. "Damn, how fast they growing/ Wonder if they knowing that they daddy go hard."
"But everybody sayin' they Mariah checks/ That's the first mistake and lying's next/ Nick is broke, he ain't cold" Nick raps over the dubstep beat. "I got paper that can't be touched," he adds.
And for those who say "He no chair, never CEO," for your information Nick is an actor, comedian, rapper, entrepreneur, record producer, and radio and television personality. He is the chairman and the development and creative consultant of TeenNick and heads his own record label N'Credible Entertainment.
Cannon got his start as a teenage sketch comedian on 'All That' before going on to host 'The Nick Cannon Show,' 'Wild 'N Out,' and, currently, 'America's Got Talent.' He has acted in several films, released his debut self-titled album as a rapper and is currently working on the follow up. So take that!
While he sets the record straight about his self-sufficient status, Cannon has no problem gushing about Mariah and recognizing how lucky he is to have her. "Everybody knows I'm obsessed with my wife. I'm married to Mariah Carey. It doesn't get better than that. I'd be an idiot to do anything wrong. I worship my wife. Have you seen my back? My back says 'Mariah Forever'," he said earlier this month.
