Transitioning from "poppin' bottles in the club" to prepping for a baby, Dev, 22, told PopCrush that she is expecting a little girl in just three months, on Dec. 24. Baby Amelia will arrive just in time for Christmas and the mom-to-be shared, "I'm so excited. It's so bizarre but so cool. It's gonna be a little Christmas baby. I'll definitely be in the hospital for Christmas. It will be interesting."
"I've been trying to take it day by day. Me and my fiance are just really excited to start a family," the 'In the Dark' diva added. "I just can't wait to see her. That's just kinda what's keeping me going."
Dev may have been scared to reveal her baby news at first out of fear of being dropped by her label, but the singer is set to release her debut album, 'When the Night Sun Came Up' on Nov. 1 as planned. Dev is also featured on Demi Lovato's latest single 'Who's That Boy.' Still, the pregnancy has already given the pop star some perspective and a new set of priorities.
"I think [motherhood will change me] for the better. I think it already has. I approach things so much differently, with everything -- work and outside of work. I think I appreciate a lot more now. She's already made me such a better person and I haven't even met her yet. I think it will change me and make me mature, but it will all be for the better."
It sounds like the young singer has already changed since she told AOL Music back in May, "I'm from a really small town where everyone stays and marries their high school sweetheart. All my friends have kids, which is cool, that's what my parents did, but I was never satisfied. I still never am." It appears as if she is quite satisfied with fulfilling her hometown's customs after all.
