We Day in Toronto featured a host of special guests, motivational speakers, actors and singers, but the person who perhaps got the most attention was perhaps Canadian pop star Nelly Furtado, who wowed the crowed with her generous million-dollar gift.

Backstage after her emotional performance and donation, Furtado spoke to AOL about the trip to Africa that inspired her to donate the funds to Free the Children, where the money came from (hint: Gaddafi) and why people in the public eye should be working for social change. Oh, and Furtado also revealed some details on her upcoming album!
