Paul McCartney Would Have Gotten the Band Back Together -- Potent Quotables

Paul McCartneyGetty Images

"If John and George were still here it's highly likely we would've had a Beatles reunion. I think we would've mellowed to the point where we would've said, 'Come on, let's do it ...' The thing was whenever we got together, no matter if we were arguing, we played great ... We were like hands in a glove." -- Paul McCartney

The former Beatle tells the Daily Express that the old crew would have put aside their differences and come together, right now.

I do NOT think it would have happened.. GEORGE was absoultely against a reunion..he thought it would "quite silly" he onfe said to be standing up there playing (as he called them) "dopey" songs. Paul, John and Ringo would have said YES....it would have been George that needed the convincing.....a TOUR..highly doubtful as Harrison stayed away completely from the USA..after 1974 ...but thanks to a MADMAN and george's illness it will never be...Let It be..No It CANT.

I do believe Paul, George and Ringo would have done it if George had been in better health. Paul and Ringo have played together since then. There are many many bands that were influenced and helped by these artists. They went out of thier way to help.

any band you see today that bills itself as a "Beatles Tribute Band" is only a shell of the real thing ..........they only exist because many people want to move backwards instead of forwards.......the past is comfortable the future very uncertain.................I'm very curious as to what the ticket price would have been had the Beatles reunited and where they would have performed..............

Oh, the band would have gotten back together long before there were the two deaths. It's just that the other 2 weren't all that happy with how William took advantage of his role as Faul McFarceney after the split up. If you look at the headlines, Ringo will have nothing to do with "Paul". He was not welcome when the other Beatles went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after having been entered into it. Why was "Paul" not allowed to be at a great moment of honor for the Beatles if he was considered one of the driving forces in the band? Why doesn't anyone want to have anything to do with him? Because the real Paul died. And this fill in overstepped his bounds of the role. I hope this fake Paul dies soon so they can dig out his implants and show the world the truth.

Sorry...but McCartney needs to stop this fantasy of his and live out his days at peace with the fact that the band was a done deal even before the actual breakup. He was the main cause, having done quite a bit of name-calling and outright vial and rude comments directed at Yoko (and in John's presence).

Hey, I'm with Paul on that one...Yoko's a leech with no talent. But in John's own words in an interview shortly before his death, he would never - ever - be any part of a reunion because of those 'Yoko incidents' he described.

There was a fantastic radio special released only for radio a couple months ago which contains loads of previously unheard interviews and various recordings. It's an honest in depth look at the roots of the issues with the Beatles as personalities and how their professional attitudes were getting in the way. But the main factor in the breakup seemed to be the 10 years of touring in closed, close quarters...you can't imprison four guys together for years and not have it end at some point.

The people that tike Paul, in this blog thing, bringing up the band again would never ever happen! They had their chance after jon was shot. Paul, is blowing smoke up our #$^%$.He is trying to make his own self feel better and not guilty about the break-up of the band. All in all it would never happen YHANK YOU YOKO.

I disagree...not a Paul fan -- not ever...but the other three guys had made a very poor business decision at one point, which in turn caused insurmountable issues that were the first to contribute to the band breakup. Possibly the onlysensible thought McCartney ever had...but he was correct in thinking they would be sorry for this decision in later years. He was so bummed over it that he wrote a song about...guess which one? It was on their last recording project in '69.

Would have, could have, should have. Michael Jackson ended up owning the rights to most of the Beatles music. so sad, so sad; sometimes you feel so sad......

I always thought that considering the magnitude of the event it would have been & I'm sure they all would have seen that. it would have been the most enormous musical event in World History. Forget about the million man march and New Years Eve in Manhattan.. That would have been the ultimate.

No, enough already with the nostalgia groups. We don't want to see you have a heart attack on stage. You were great once let's remember you as you were-I realize the divorces are expensive but we don't want to pay for them
