Nina Dobrev Says 'Degrassi' Inspired Her Work With Free the Children -- Exclusive Video

It's not every day you get the opportunity to motivate nearly 20,000 kids to change the world. But it was a task -- and challenge -- Nina Dobrev happily accepted. As co-host of We Day celebrations at Toronto's Air Canada Centre on September 27, 'The Vampire Diaries' actress pumped up the crowd and spoke candidly about her experiences helping poverty-stricken children in Africa.

In between moments on stage, the hometown star took some time to talk to AOL about why she was inspired to work with Free the Children, the importance of empowering young people and why anyone can change the world if given the chance.
