Christina Aguilera Slammed for Weight Gain at Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

Christina Aguilera is known for pushing the envelope with her edgy onstage outfits. But the Tina Turner-eque black leotard Xtina rocked at the Michael Jackson tribute concert this past weekend is causing a stir amongst critics -- and for all the wrong reasons.

Upon taking the stage in a tight, corseted onesie and fishnets, Christina was visibly disheveled. Brittan's the Daily Mail was one of the many news outlets to weigh in unfavorably on the singer's new look. "Her blonde hair, which was filled out with long extensions, was matted mess and her skimpy corset and fishnets did little to flatter her very curvy figure," writes the Daily Mail reporter. Internet blogs were far less kind when it came to Christina's more noticeable curves. "She's gone all Aretha Franklin," wrote Celebitchy. And, "It's quite clear Ms. Aguilera needs to shed a few pounds," blog That Grape Juice posted after the performance.

On a more positive note, Christina did garner universal praise for her performances of 'Smile' and 'Dirty Diana' at the MJ Tribute. Christina was one of the many celebs, including Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo and Jackson's own children, who hit the stage at the 'Michael Jackson Forever' concert in Cardiff, Wales. The Black Eyes Peas and Jennifer Hudson were also scheduled to attend, but pulled out at the last minute due to production issues.

I'm so happy to hear the supportive comments about Christina's weight. That's a welcomed change and appropriate response the this main stream media assault on normal sized women. I'm a man and I'm hear to tell them "skinny is not automatically better". Skinny is not automatically healthy. Skinny is not automatically attractive.
So what! A woman gains a few extra pounds. The main stream media pretends to be more excepting of women who are not skinny. But, it's fake!
One more thing. I'm not to fond of this new trend of calling "fat" women "curvy" either. I'm married to a curvy woman. She's 36" 24" 36". She's curvy for sure. But, she's pretty damn far from fat. Let's not re-define what "curvy" really means. It's not fair to truly curvy women.

I don't think she needs to lose any weight unless she wants to. Here bones aren't showing, so she's too fat, what a load! She may want to reconsider some outfits to flatter her new body shape instead of squeaking onto things she used to fit in. But I think it should be about talent, not her body size!!

Christina is a curvy woman, yes, but HEALTHY! I'm the first to admit I am not her biggest fan, but I think her shape is ideal for a woman and no one should tell her otherwise. Hollywood has an extremely off-balance view of what is considered attractive and ideal. Most celebs (women) are at least 20 pounds under the ideal weight for their height. Not good! Hopefully one day that will change. (I won't, however, hold my breath.)

I think anytime comments are made about weight, weight gain or curvyness it's unfair! It should never be about weight, but rather about TALENT! It's the fault of the media who pushes the buttons with constant criticisms about celebrity weight. Not everyone is destined to be a size 2, hell or even a size 8! What a boring world it would be if everyone looked the same....variety makes life interesting! Sometimes choice of attire does not help to flatter someone's appearance, but I say...stay away from weight comments, whose purpose does that serve anyway? Let's focus on someone's talent! Way to many superficial folks out there!

sometimes when people go through tough times, they may look different just cause they are stressed out perhaps, give her a break, things happen. i still think she is a great talented singer and person. maybe she just needs time to get back to her old self. its life

It seems a bit unfair to make fun of her weight gain. However, she could avoid alot of the negativity by opting not to wear the skimpy outfits on stage. She really brings it on herself. As for Kelly - she is just a brat, famous for nothing other than being Ozzy's daughter.
