Dr. Conrad Murray Abandons Original Defense in Michael Jackson Case

The latest development to come out of the ongoing trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who's being charged with the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, is making headlines after this morning's (Oct. 12) court session.

Murray's lawyer announced that the doctor, who pleaded "Not guilty" to the charge, is now abandoning his original defense. At the start of the trial, Murray's lawyers argued that the late King of Pop accidentally killed himself by orally self-administering the fatal dose of the prescription drug Propofol -- a misstep that ended his life in June 2009.

As it turns out, an independent study by the defense found that swallowing Propofol would not produce fatal results, so taking the drug orally, as Murray claimed Jackson did, could not have killed him.

Lead lawyer, Ed Chernoff, said in his opening statements that the defense will now go on to claim that the late entertainer self-administered the fatal dose of the drug by injection, not by mouth.

The twist in the trial follows the recent revelation that Jackson's eldest children, Prince and Paris were in their famous father's bedroom at the time of his tragic passing.

If convicted, Murray faces four years in prison.

Even if one could sit in the court room every day, hear every word, watch every expression, and any other advantage one's presence might have......it is implausible to feel his children would be watching every move a doctor makes, or even his body guard. People 'and this is hard fact' simply do not conduct themselves that way. People look around them. They look at practically everything and yet recall hardly a single thing. This would be especially true for a child. Nothing I have read has given me any idea, one way or the other, as to his guilt. I do feel he might have given Michael a bit more of his medication than he would an 'average' patient. If Michael were 'average', none of us would be engaged in any conversation about this. Most people make their minds up about things within one minute from hearing a news bite. This has been proven over and over again. It really doesn't matter what the 'facts' are..... people have their minds made up. They talk about 'Crooked Politicians' (and they are right) but when it comes right down to it..... they can not even name the member of the House of Representatives who represents them in Congress. All they know is..... 'He is a crook'. People get by in this world by listening to sound bites on T.V. or reading captions in News Papers. Several Polls, over the years, have stated this is true with the number who do not read the article being as high as 96%. There is no way you can 'get the whole story' on a New's program which has 1/2 hour to deliver all the news, weather, sports, or any specials they have on the program. Most items receive more than 15 seconds in coverage. How can we 'possibly' tell. I am a firm believer that the prosecution must prove its case Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt. I do not know how they could do this until the final witness has spoken or the last piece of evidence has been introduced. The closing argument is simply the time for the 'Best Orator' to get his/her shot at a conviction/aquital. God alone (and maybe Dr. Murry, knows who killed Michael Jackson). Whatever decision the jury comes up with..... I hope they are right. Even though most of think their very little doubt as to the Guilt of O.J. Simpson, the detective on the case was a known biggot, racist, and one of the biggest liars on the L.A. Police Force. God help us all. We must answer for our sins and if one of the jurists (Only ONE) has preconceived ideas regarding the case........ and Votes that way...... he/she is not the only person who will suffer. God help us all.

Four gallons of propofol! That's enough to put the whole courtroom to sleep. This doctor is out of his f*****g mind or what? Notice how he remains eerily stoic and expressionless; he knows he screwed up. This doctor has betrayed the Hippocratic Oath; he is guilty as sin. However, Michael also had a huge responsibility in his own demise. Say no to drugs. The pharmaceutical and medicine industry is the biggest fraud. Also, say no to the numerous MJ' s exploitation out there. Joe Jackson is still pursuing to launch a line of perfumes with a professional crook.
