They may seem like the elder statesmen of the MTV crowd, but just a mere 11 years ago today, rock/rap group Linkin Park released their debut album, 'Hybrid Theory.' The CD's popularity skyrocketed almost instantly and was certified gold by the RIAA only five weeks after its release. Critical acclaim also followed, with 'Hybrid Theory' scoring a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 2002 Grammy Awards and the single 'Crawling' taking home the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. Other popular tracks from the CD include 'One Step Closer,' 'Papercut' and 'In the End,' which was arguably the album's most mainstream hit. And here's a little known fact about the CD: The title, 'Hybrid Theory,' was actually the previous name of the band!
