Rihanna Under Fire for 'We Found Love' Video, Causes Stir With Trip to Cannabis Cafe and Sex Shop

Rihanna is no stranger to backlash from critics for her controversial music videos. She was accused of promoting violence with her murder-centered 'Man Down' visuals, her 'S&M' video was banned in 11 countries, and now RiRi is feeling the heat from anti-rape activists for her new 'We Found Love' video.

According to Rihanna, the 'We Found Love' visuals were meant to illustrate how love can be like a drug. Ri goes through some high highs and low lows in the sex and drug-filled video along with a Chris Brown look-a-like.

The video itself could be interpreted as a re-creation of Rihanna's tumultuous relationship with her ex, Brown, which ended in a violent physical assault at the hands of her troubled man.

Now, Rihanna is being targeted by anti-rape campaigners over concerns that she is objectified by her co-star and rumored boyfriend Dudley O'Shaughnessy in the video. Eileen Kelly of the Rape Crisis Center in the U.K. told Britain's Daily Star, "Rihanna's new video is a disgrace. It sends the message that she is an object to be possessed by men, which is disturbingly what we see in real violence cases."

Whether the video was inspired by her past or not, it seems that lately, Rihanna is living the wild 'We Found Love' lifestyle depicted in the video. The singer made headlines after reportedly dropping over $1,500 on goods at a Parisian sex shop earlier this week, and has most recently been spotted visiting one of Holland's most famous cannabis cafes, the Bulldog Cafe.

I think this video's great! If you've ever been in love like this (even if you haven't) -- the magic of being together with that person, the ecstasy of making love with him albeit fueled by drugs or alcohol, the invincibility, the immortality, the eternality of it all -- you can feel that all vicariously through this video, through the interactions of these two perfectly beautiful young people. But not only that. The fear of knowing your love has crossed the line from harmless fun to dangerous addiction, from puppy love to crazy obsession, from lust to insatiability, you can feel all that too, along with the guilt and shame of knowing your feet are on a wrong road, and the heartache of knowing you must double back though you long to travel on. This video elicits feelings and isn't that what art is all about? It is art you know, not a tutorial on how to live ones life.

Really? Damn these people sound like PETA, anything for attention. This does not in any way send the message that "she is an object to be possessed by men." It does clearly show the timeline of an abusive relationship; it starts off fun and romantic and then spirals out of control. There is beauty and misery in this video - a perfect display of any relationship that involves a drug user, or abusive individual. It can also be interpreted as a message of what happens when drugs and alcohol are introduced into a relationship. It is not promoting anything, if anything it is showing how drugs and violence can destroy even the healthiest relationships. Idiots.
