Spice Girl Mel B's Daughter Reportedly Held Captive by Singer's Ex-Husband

Scary Spice, aka, Mel B, had the scare of her life earlier this month when her eldest daughter, Phoenix, was reportedly held captive by the tween's father, Jimmy Gulzar, during a monthly visit. According to RadarOnline, what started as a daddy/daughter day turned dramatic when Phoenix's father refused to let her leave his apartment at the end of their time together.

According to Radar's source: "The cops had to be called to enforce the court order, which states that Mel has primary custody of Phoenix. There was a stand off for several hours and when it became clear that Gulzar wasn't going to turn Phoenix over, LAPD responded and told Jimmy he had to allow his daughter to leave his apartment."

The shaken teen was then taken by police to their precinct, where she filed a battery claim against her father. The police report allegedly reads: "Victim is suspect's daughter. Susp has visitation rights w/daughter. When daughter attempted to leave susp's house to return to mother's home, susp grabbed vict's arm refusing to let her leave."

Sadly, this isn't the first time Mel and Jimmy have clashed over their daughter. The two married back in 1998 while Scary Spice was already pregnant with Phoenix. Unfortunately the union was short-lived and tumultuous, with the couple divorcing at the end of 1999. Things went from bad to worse when, in 2000, Jimmy was arrested after a dispute with Mel's sister, Danielle, who had come to pick up Phoenix, then 18 months old, from his home in London.

Currently, Phoenix is back with her mother and trying to move on from the disturbing visit with her father. The family is reconnecting together while "down under" in Australia, where Mel is filming that country's version of 'The X Factor.'

Whoa! Mel needs to lay off the bronzer, she looks like an oompa-loompa or a Jersey Shore reject. As for the kid, perhaps the child needs to make her own choices as to whom she spends her time with rather than being used as a pawn in the parents' game.

First if the child wanted to stay with her father then when the police arrived with the court order he would have been a responsible adult and explained that to the police instead of them forcing him to release the child. Second if she wanted to be with the dad she would not have filed charges for assult against her "loving father" . I will admit some "mother's ( and I use the term loosely-some women don't make good mother's making a baby does not make you a mother) do not need their child and should go to the father. However, if he wants more time with his child I am sure he could have come up with a better way of getting it. He could have spoken to the mother and daughter about it. Or just went back to court. Either way he was wrong for scarying that child. Now she may not want to see him again and as much as people will want to blame Mel B it will not be her fault it will be his fault for this ignorant stunt he pulled.

I didn't read the whole story but " HELD CAPTIVE" makes for great headlines! Maybe she didnt wanna go home to her mothers? My EX is a bitch and the kids always want to come stay with me! A lot of times the ex wife gets the custody and pays back the husband by using the kids!

It's a shame when parents can't get along enough to share their children with love.

Scary Spice is a good name for her. Looks like she overdid the bronzer and is now an orange Ompa-Loompa.

That's her foundation/base coat makeup. As your skin changes , you need to change foundations , she obviously hasn't. Not that I care , I still love the music that Mel B. and the Spice Girls made together , thier looks now have nothing to do with their sound. Not that you mentioned this , but , I hope Mel can try to get along with her ex enough for the sake of their child together.

When voting your comment up, the number went from negative 4 to negative 5. Conclusion: The negative number shown is actually the number that have voted your comment "Up."

I'd say no more visitation before it gets really nasty/tragic.

I'm not taking sides , although it might sound that way. I love the Spice Girls. Anyway , it sounds like her dad just wants her to live with him , it sounds like a dad who loves their kid and it tears him up to have her leave. If Mel can provide a better quality of life , then yes she should live with her , with visitation rights for dad. If he can give a better quality , stability , then he should have her with him , with Mel getting visitation. Whatever went on between them , it doesn't matter , now it's about their child. I can't stand my ex , but got along for the sake of our 2 children. Now they are grown and I don't have to see their dad , period.
