Inside Natasha Bedingfield's Battle With Body Insecurities

"Love your curves!" That's a message 'Weightless' singer Natasha Bedingfield is preaching to her fans. It's also a life mantra Natasha tries to live by herself after struggling for years with body image issues. "I definitely battled a lot of insecurities as a young girl," Natasha tells PEOPLE Magazine. "I have never had a stick-thin model, size-zero body."

After finding fame in 2005 with the breakout hit, 'These Words,' Natasha discovered that a new life in the spotlight only added to her self-consciousness. "The pressure on singers is 100-fold," shares Natasha. It took the 29-year-old singer time and lots of internal pep-talks to come to terms with her natural beauty. Now, Natasha is embracing her healthy curves. "I decided not to starve myself to try and fit into the mold," she says.

And believe it or not, Natasha also admits to getting a confidence boost from the Dove Soap's ad campaign featuring women of all shapes and sizes flaunting their curves. "[They] helped me accept and love my curvy figure and see myself as womanly," shares Natasha.
