Although Charice was estranged from her father, his sudden death has had a huge impact on the 'Glee' star and 'One Day' singer nonetheless. Upon hearing of his passing, Charice took to Twitter with the message: "Last night, I was with somebody that said I looked like my dad, I didn't know that my dad was trying to make his presence felt. I just want you to know that we had a really great relationship before all the trouble began. My mother didn't know but when I was young, my father told me that he wanted me to be a soldier because I'm fearless. I loved him, and I will still love him. He's still my Dad after all."
Charice had been scheduled to perform in concert this week in Singapore, but pulled out to fly home and lay her father to rest. In another message later posted on Twitter, Charice apologized to fans for cancelling on her commitment, but thanked them for their support. "I am very sorry to all my fans from Singapore," wrote Charice. "I am not going to be there to be part of David Foster and Friends concert. I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family. I hope you all understand. I love you all and I will see you next year."
