Classified Gives Props to Public Enemy But Says His Hip-Hop 'Is Not About the Politics'

ClassifiedMax Portughes for AOL

Canadian rapper Classified isn't out to push a political agenda. Through his hip-hop rhymes and involvement in Free the Children's We Day celebrations, the Torontonian is hoping to connect with people on a more personal level to inspire change.

Chatting with AOL backstage at We Day in Vancouver, Classified discussed his admiration for socially conscious hip-hoppers like Public Enemy but admitted he doesn't "follow politics." "I'm trying to represent who I am, what I know," he said. "And I'm making rap music to help you find out who you are."
