While the actual "cool Nebraska guy" who inspired 'You and I' is Gaga's ex-boyfriend Luc Carl, the pop star, 25, has been indulging in a fling with Kinney, 30, who seems to be the polar opposite of her artsy former BF.
According to an Us Weekly source close to the singer, "They're hooking up and getting to know each other."
The couple was spotted leaving New York's Alvin Ailey dance studio together in mid-October, but the source claims that due to Gaga's busy schedule, the fling has yet to evolve into a full-blown relationship. "Gaga can't be too committed because she works 24/7," the source revealed. "But she thinks he's super cute!"
When Us Weekly asked Kinney's 'The Vampire Diaries' co-star Kat Graham about his love life, she responded, "Gaga would know more than I would! But he's genuinely sweet -- not an a--hole actor at all!"
Gaga joins fellow pop star Rihanna in taking an on-camera music video hookups off-camera for a real-life romance. RiRi has allegedly been getting hot and heavy with her 'We Found Love' video co-star, model Dudley O'Shaughnessy.
