Watch Adele Make Coldplay Burst Into Tears

Hulu

In what could possibly be the best 'Saturday Night Live' sketch of the year, the cast taps into what most of us already knew -- Adele's 'Someone Like You' is the saddest song EVER!

The hilarious skit, which aired at the very end of last Saturday's show [Nov. 12], starts off innocently enough with a group of co-workers about to leave for Happy Hour. One of the group stays behind though, bummed out by the loss of a big business pitch. It's then things take a turn for the funny, when she begins blasting 'Someone Like You' and weeping openly at her desk.

Of course she gets busted as co-worker after co-worker returns to the office and eventually begin singing along/crying uncontrollably to the sad, sad tune. As Kristen Wiig's character so succinctly puts it: "Ladies I'm no dummy. You both needed a good cry, so you were listening to Adele's 'Someone Like You.' Everyone with a heart and an iTunes account does.'

Soon, it's not just the actors having a weepy sing-along. As the camera pans to musical guests Coldplay behind-the-scenes, the audience catches them holding each other as they cry along with the comedians on-stage.

To check out the "funny because it's true" skit, hit play below and fast-forward to the 52 minute mark. (Warning: You may want to watch with some tissues handy!)
