"The Velvet Teddy Bear," as he was nicknamed during his 2003 stint on the hit reality competition show, met future-wife Surata Zuri McCants in October 2006 while he was signing CDs at a Walmart in Atlanta. The couple tied the knot on June 28, 2008 at a private ceremony in Mountain Brook, Alabama and have no children together. "Ruben and Zuri have gone their separate ways," Studdard's rep confirmed yesterday.
In divorce papers, the 33-year-old cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for his breakup from McCants.
Studdard released his last album, 'Love Is,' in 2009.
