Demi Lovato: Boyfriend Needs to Deal With Emotional 'Baggage'

Demi Lovato has a message for any guy who's considering asking her out: Being the singer's boyfriend isn't easy! "It's a big responsibility dating me. Because I come with a little bit of baggage, you know?" Demi recently shared with Glamour Magazine, referencing the emotional issues that landed her in rehab last year. "I'm completely open. I'm honest about the journey I've been on, so I definitely don't take dating lightly anymore.

One person surely paying attention to Demi's love revelation is rumored boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama. Dem and her much-older beau have been spotted on dates non-stop lately, and were caught on cam this past Thanksgiving week having a cozy outing! The former Disney darling has admitted that she loves Wilmer because of his nurturing personality, which seems to jive with her description of "her perfect guy" in the Glamour article. "[I want to date] someone who's not only supportive in my career but also in my [emotional] recovery," said Demi. "And they have to make me laugh!"

Dem may have a healthy perspective on love now, but that wasn't always the case. "I think every time you get your heart broken, there's a little piece of it that chips away, and I don't think you ever get that piece back," shares the singer. "But I think you're able to bandage it with time and with new people and other things that make you happy."
