Russell Brand: Katy Perry Marriage Still Going Strong

After internet rumors ran rampant this week that Katy Perry and her comedian hubby Russell Brand were heading for divorce, both of the stars have jumped to action to refute the claims. For Katy, that meant posting on her Twitter about the laughable reports. But Russell went even further, taking to the TV airwaves to talk about the strength of his marriage.

As reported by Entertainment Tonight, Russell appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show today (Dec. 2) and opened up to the talk show host about wedded life. Prompted by DeGeneres to address the divorce gossip, the comedian feigned shock and said: "What?! She should've told me."

Although Brand tried making the hurtful rumor a laughing matter, he wasn't joking when he confided to Ellen later in the segment, "I'm really happily married."

Need any more proof that these two are going strong? Well earlier in the week, Katy and Russell visited a tattoo parlor together to get inked as a married couple. Perry also made sure to flash her wedding ring at this week's Grammy nominations concert special.

[O]ur current divorce system is a racket that enriches attorneys and makes children and communities poorer. Divorce scars children and leaves them emotionally disfigured. The current divorce laws are perverse and they are destroying children and our society.

They are a star couple who are happily married, the tabloits and gossip hounds should leave them alone, I am sure they is enought smut out there to keep them happy, stay hyappy Katy and Russell

That's what they all say! Anyone remember the infamous newspaper ad Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford put out denying "rumors" of their marriage being in trouble? I believe they filed for divorce only a few months later. What about the more recent split up of Mr. & Mrs. Kutcher? Didn't they deny anything was wrong on the homefront? Celebs are liars by nature; it's all about their "image" of perfection. Who gives a sh%t!

I never really found Russel to be funny but I admit I saw him on Ellen and he had me laughing. I am glad the rumors are not true

I think they make a cute couple. They are both , as another commenter put it , a bit off the wall , but endearing. It's a shame they have to defend their marriage the way they do.

He's an English comedian , he's also been in a few movies you might have heard of? Get him to the Greek? Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Arthur (remake of dudley moore/liza minelli movie) ? Hop? Even if you haven't heard of him , hes delightfully irreverent , funny as all hell.
